Ewiens love for lines, strong moments, shadows, bright colours and funky details, are important elements in her Hopeful images. Under the name btwienCLICKS | Film & Photo (formerly Maliwood Productions) she creates stills and videos for educational, musical and documentary purposes.
Although her work is colourful and lively, Ewien does not shy away from documenting the more difficult aspects of (African) life. Over 15+ years of experience abroad has taught her to embrace life as it comes, with the more beautiful but also the more challenging moments. Under the guidance of the Creator of heaven and earth and with a ( acquired) touch of African resilience and endurance.

Her photo and video work has been exhibited in Africa, Europe and America. A photo series about Talibé children (children studying the Koran), Dreams of a Talibe, was published in France to increase awareness and raise funds for the beautiful work that is done among these wonderful but tormented children.
One of her recent photographs, Surreal Surroundings, was rewarded with an ‘Honorable Mention Award’ in the 2020 Click VOICE Image Collection – category ‘Taking Shape‘. This photo competition receives worldwide around 40,000 entries each year and this image reached the top 2%.
